Well "Hi" everyone! I know, I know, I have been very lame in doing blog posts, and I am working on getting on a better routine now that we have high speed internet most of the time!
It was a struggle this summer not having high speed internet. I didn't think it would bother me so much, I'll admit, it was kinda nice to be "disconnected" but I did miss my high speed internet!
So have had been in Idaho since mid April camp hosting at Wagonhammer RV park, ( more info on them on our "where are we going" tab.
We had to leave there early when Gus' father passed away last month. We left Aug. 24th and headed for Minnesota. We spent about 10 days in the area seeing what we could of family and friends due to the COVID restriction there.
We were going to spend a week in Wisconsin , but changed our minds and decided to spend 2 week in the Ozarks on our way to Galveston Texas for the winter.
Both of us have wanted to "ride" around Missouri and Arkansas, and I have to say, we are so glad we headed south to do it!!! We are 20 miles south of Branson in Omaha Arkansas. WOW! what a beautiful area! SO many excellent roads to ride!! We have been here about a week and have done about half the rides we want to do! We have also made time to take in 2 shows in Branson.
The Rv Park we are at is called Ozark View RV park . This is a great location to stay at as it is off the main highway on "Old" hwy 65 and 20 miles south of Branson.
We went to the Arkansas visitors center and asked for a motorcycle road map. They gave us a whole bag of maps and brochures just for motorcycles rides!!
Below is a slideshow I put together with some highlights from the last couple days. The 1st day of riding I took Maggie for a walk before we left and we ran into an Armadillo! He was just laying there napping, I think. Went back a few minutes later and he was gone. LOL
We have been to Rogers Arkansas to the largest Harley dealer in the state. They have their own gourmet food truck and I had a lobster grilled cheese sandwich!! We then headed to Eureka Springs, what a cute, quirky town. Hit the Harley store there, then headed to The Great Passion Play location and Christ of the Ozarks! Outstanding! Another day we did the Peel Ferry route, though Mark Twain National Forest to the ferry that crosses the Bull Shoals lake. What was really fun about the ferry ride was , there were other bikes with us including some really old motorcycles that usually do the "Cannonball run", but since it got canceled this year, some are still doing it and calling it the "Musket Ball run"! LOL. Another day was Table Rock lake and dam. We also finally came across a nice scenic outlook over Branson!
I will be posting more pics and videos on Facebook and Instagram so be sure to follow us!
Enjoy!
